This bike pannier has been fantastic for my commute to my college campus. As a student who carries around a lot of stuff, (notebooks, a gaming laptop, chargers, a bike repair kit, a box of circuitboards, spare clothes) this bag has been a great way to store my gear for the commute and it works well for short walks between classes. Having space to neatly store nice clothes has been a game changer since I need lots of layers to stay warm when sitting in class, but I need somewhere to store them for the commute. I love the integrated reflectors on the bag and the neon yellow rain cover.

Downsides:
I absolutely hate the way the top bag mounts to the pannier. Why is it not just a buckle on each end of the bag? Slotting the pegs into the slots feels terrible to do and they never stay slotted, and then the other side uses a velcro strap through a loop. I've thankfully never lost the top bag but I hope they update that for a later design because its the worst part of this bag.
Additionally the garment compartment has seen some wear, it could use some reinforcing so the inside part of the rack hooks don't rub as much.

I was first introduced to Two Wheel Gear (TWG) through watching the "Shifter" channel on YouTube. Given that Tom from the channel seems to be one of the only normal people left on the internet, I decided to give the Inverter Pannier Backpack (IPB) a try. I pre-ordered the IPB and have now used it in my daily bike commute for the past five months. While I am not usually one to leave reviews, I thought the experience I had with TWG was worth a shout.

The road to the IPB started out a bit bumpy. The bag I had originally ordered was lost in the mail and never made it to me. After some back and forth with the postal service, it was clear that I was headed nowhere fast. Instead, I decided to pivot and contact the TWG customer service team to see if there was anything they could do. Reid from TWG not only fixed everything in a jiffy (sending a brand new bag at no cost to me), he also made some time for a conversation. Our encounter was wonderfully human in a world where that is all too uncommon.

The only thing that was more impressive than the customer service at TWG is the quality of their product. After five months of daily use as my work backpack, the IPB is showing no signs of wear. The clip feature is a breeze, the backpack is extremely comfortable when worn, and the inverter design is genius. After my first few weeks of practice with the bag, I have since been able to flip the bag on and off of my bike with the grace adjacent to those who can unfold a Brompton in one continuous motion (it feels like that anyways). I have just placed a pre-order for the Pannier Backpack Convertible 2.1 to replace my personal backpack. I have no doubts it will live up to the TWG name.

Great for laptop or books. Nice zipper closure. Easily used for anything including wet clothing.

This bag can do everything and be attached everywhere! I have used this to transport clothes, groceries, extra warm gear, books, Dungeons & Dragons game gear, and my lunch! I’ve attached it to my handlebars, to my back rack, and hung it like a pannier bag from my back rack with Tack Straps! I truly love this bag. I am going to save up to buy one more!

The wet sack has been a perfect way for me to transport my dressier shoes to the office and to store my tennis shoes once I arrive at the office. I’m always paranoid there could be odor from my shoes from sweating on my bike ride in. If there has ever been odor, no one, including me, knows! I love this bag!

About 2 weeks in and the pannier is great. It is easy to install and convert to a backpack. Hasn't been tested in the rain yet, but the zippers and fabric seem very waterproof.

Reid and the team at 2 Wheel Gear kindly helped me fix my bag with a replacement part after several years of use. Their products are top quality and the service response was no different. Highly recommend this company and their products.

I absolutely love it! It's the perfect size, elegantly designed, and surprisingly easy to mount and dismount the pannier. One exterior perfect for keys / wallet. I've been looking for the ideal pannier for a while. When I saw this new product It looked fantastic, then when I received it I realized its even better than I expected.

Lots of capacity, love the zippered exterior pocket (Just wish there was an additional zippered pocket on the inside)

Took me a little while to figure out how to handle the straps, but besides that it's a great and it sits perfectly on my bike!

I have been commuting daily through rain, snow, and shine using this pannier for 4 years and I can highly recommend it.

Starting with the build quality: The zippers are excellent, the inside face has taken a ton of grit and grime flung at it, and the pack has not worn through where I place it on the ground.

Next the design: I love the thoughtfulness of how the garmet compartment is designed. So easy to hang off a hook and access your towel and change of clothes. I especially appreciate that it came with a wet bag that fits exactly into the towel pocket. Furthermore the other main pockets are just the right size (despite my best efforts to overstuff them) - note I also have a frame bag where I place very thick items like my lunch tupperware, however this would fit in their provided top bag which I don't use. The laptop sleeve has comfortably and securely transported my small macbook air 13" and now a large 16" laptop without issue.

If you are a commuter who likes to change at your destination this is a fantastic purchase and will last you ages! However this is a more specialised item and if you are looking for a large bucket of a bag to carry groceries with I would recommend a different Two Wheel Gear item.

I've been using this bag for 7 months to commute in Calgary year round and do a lot of my errands by bike. I've come to accept there is no perfect backpack as each design makes concessions. However this one is as close to perfect I think.

The bag has enough storage for a change of clothes, lunch, laptop, miscellaneous work items, u-lock, thermos and emergency bike items. I drop my daughter off at daycare and I can sometimes fit her bag in my mine depending on the day. If not, the M.A.S. can be used to attach her backpack to the outside.

I've always liked backpacks with daisy chains to be able to attach large items outside of the bag with carabiners or rope. The M.A.S. attachment points do essentially the same function. I've attached my daughters helmet, her backpack, 14" balance bike and grocery bags. It works great.

The internal organization is good and allows easy access. Pulling keys out, snacks or gloves are common items I can dig out quickly.

Being a top loading backpack with a lot of the storage being on the bags outside flap and at the top, the bag flops over when it's empty or close to it. I wouldn't say it's a negative as I've had backpacks with no storage on the top flap and found myself wanting more. As having a storage pocket at the bottom of the bag has more limitations I think.

Overall, this has been the best commuting bag I've used and don't have any wandering eye to switch things up or try something new. Well made and well design backpack.

This is a great bag. Holds a lot of stuff without being too bulky on your handle bar.

Really happy with this purchase. I really like the included rain poncho and the bright orange interior makes it easy to find my stuff. The size is perfect for my commute. I can fit my shoes, change of clothes and lunch without too much difficulty. Thanks!

This bag is perfect for those who are looking for a business-like pannier bag that can be used for commuting. It is well thought out and the quality is good. From now on, I will try to see how strong the rain can withstand. I'm going to use it carefully.
