Looks better than it is

I've been using this bag for 4 months now. I really liked the look and feel of it when I bought it. It's a good size for snacks, tools and a jacket. The fabric is durable and it's well made. After a torrential downpour while out riding I realised it is not waterproof. It took ages to dry out because of the thick fabric and lining. The slide buckles seemed like a neat idea. They have withstood me taking the bag on and off every ride but I continue to be concerned that they'll break when I'm tightening the straps. Stronger, thicker plastic would give more confidence. I don't see the purpose of the spongey pads on the straps as they just float rather than stay pressed against anything. Perhaps if I wasn't trying to mount the bag on a bar that also has brake and gear cables to navigate it would be possible to press the pads against the bar. On long rides I have to stop and tighten the straps several times as they work loose and the bag droops towards the front tire. This is the most frustrating aspect of the bag. There are better designed bar bags available. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Hi Fiona, please try the free Tack Straps that were included with your order to replace the handlebar straps. These would solve your frustrations. We just wish people would use them. Please note that we have already identified, created a solution and provided it free with your order to fix for this problem of the existing straps not being 100% sound. Not sure how we can provide more value than that. Sorry you wouldn't recommend it, but we wouldn't recommend anyone taking this review seriously either. it would be great if you used the provided items and gave the bag a fair shake. The buckles potentially breaking comment is quite humorous. Those are the highest quality Duraflex quick release buckles you can source. They certianly won't break by tightening the straps. I hope you use the provided new straps and help yourself out!

Buckle Fasteners are Not Intuituve

Haven't used the bag yet, but was immediately frustrated trying to get the bag on the handlebars. The plastic buckles that fasten the bag to the bars have two very little arrows imprinted on them indicating to push inwards. I did this, and tried to pull the buckle apart with no luck for several minutes.
I looked at a video online and all I found was "how easy" it was to attach to the handlebars.
After some trial and error, I discovered that you don't pull the buckles apart, but rather slide them apart. I don't believe this was explained anywhere in the directions.
Anyway, now that I figured that out, I will see how it works in the field. I am an experienced backpacker and have worked with many different types of buckles over the years, and this one was a bit too much work to figure out with no diagrams or explanation.

Hi Joe, sorry for any frustration. We probably could use a better diagram on the tag. We also included the free tack straps to replace these buckles and use as the handlebar straps. These will be even better for mounting your bag on your bikepacking trips. Cheers!

Great bag, but...

Love the size, love the look, frankly perfect for carrying lunch as a commuter... I purchased it knowing the slumping issue and note the 2 Wheels team are aware of the issue and will address in the next gen design. I would be very interested in a solution that buyers of the 1st generation could access.

Thanks for your review Pete! Yes, we have the new Tack Straps now that can upgrade the bag's mounting and replace the older straps. Each of our handlebar bags now come with 2 free additional tack straps for upgrading the mounting straps. These new Tack Straps hold super tight and prevent the bag from sagging into the front wheel.
