A really solid bag, It is a bit of a tight fit w/ a laptop.

The Dayliner trunk bag is well made and attractive. But there are some downsides.

As a handlebar bag, it's hard to attach because it competes for space with brake and shifter cables. It's also a bit too big for a handlebar bag IMHO.

That's no problem for me because I bought it to use as a trunk bag. The problem here is it does not attach securely to the rear rack with the two straps on the bottom. You really need to use extra straps to securely mount the bag on your rack. The manufacturer seems to know that, because they state in the description that extra straps can be used to help secure the bag to the rack, and they include some with your purchase. These extra straps are not built in to the bag, so you have to remember them and not lose them, and using them adds to the time to secure and remove the bag. The extra straps they sent me are not color-matched to the bag. They really should have built everything you need to achieve a secure fit right into the bag, that would have been more convenient.

Lastly, the top does not zip shut. Instead, all sides of the bag extend upward from the top of the bag about 5 inches; you snap them together at the top, and roll this extra material down until it's snug, and clip it to a strap that comes up from the bottom. Closing the top in this way is secure (in that it keeps the stuff in the bag, and keeps it dry), but it takes a bit more time and effort than a zip-close top would.

If you're a beginning bike commuter, the more hassle it is to attach, secure, and detach your gear from the bike, the less likely you are to stick with the habit.

I appreciate that 2wheelgear allows you to try their stuff for 30 days and return it if you don't like it. It's on me for not trying out this trunk bag within the 30 days, so I'll give away or donate this bag and pick up a different one that's easier to attach and detach, and is more secure to the bike rack.

The construction of this and one other item I purchased from 2wheelgear are very good, though, and I expect to purchase other items from them in the near future.

I was looking at the garment bag as a replacement for a bag I bought eons ago. While the garment bag was on backorder, I decided to look into this bag. I was honestly concerned that I would not be able to fit my size 13 shoes in, much less the office wear and toiletries. To my surprise, all fit with room to spare. So long as everything is wrinkle resistant, one can roll up clothing and pack snugly. The straps work really well and using them as an additional attachment point to the bike helps keep the load steady. When secured, this pack stays in place and has kept my things dry after a morning ride through a leftover rainstorm. All in all, I am very impressed with this bag. I just wish I had purchased it earlier!

I love this bag! I got it in grey and it looks great. It holds everything I need and I like the pockets on the inside for a bit of organization. So far I've just used it on my rear bike rack and it was super easy to strap on and off. It's got a rain cover in a pocket that I haven't had a chance to use yet, but I'm sure the opportunity is coming. I think the only think I'd add would be another exterior pocket. Right now I keep my work badge in the rain cover pocket so I can badge into the bike cage at the office, but it would be nice if there was an exterior pocket for the few things I might need quick access to like badge, wallet, and phone. Overall, really well constructed and great bag though!

Bought the bag and went straight to the grocery store. Held an impressive amount. The roll down top is forgiving if you buy too much. So much better than a backpack!! Fits well on my I-rack. Pretty simple off and on and nice carrying handle options. I will never use it on the front so would prefer to have another pocket on that side where the fasteners are. But overall I’m happy.
